I've done various different things at various different times (from theatre stage management to renovating an Irish ruin) but I always wanted to write novels. 

I'd be happy if even a small number of readers really enjoyed reading one of my books, and were sorry to get to the end. I've had enough of reading books covered in over-the-top praise and ending up thinking meh.
