Book #1 from the series: The Adventures of Sally Smart

The Smart Girl

The Secret Journals of Sally Whooper-Smart

About

Journalist Sally Smart is amazed when she wins a competition to be ‘embedded’ in 10 Downing Street for a week. Why has she, more likely to be found writing articles on first-kiss technique for Poppy magazine, been selected to be a fly on the wall for the nation?

But her looks and vivacious personality have always opened doors – and got her into trouble.

Soon she finds herself part of a deadly conspiracy involving the Prime Minister, and writes a secret journal as ‘insurance’ – to be released in the event of her unexpected death.

The other journals in this volume, also written as insurance, see Sally try to navigate the entangled worlds of politics, money and sex – but now as a tabloid favourite herself.

Praise for this book

A great read. So many LOLs, even more OMGs and a couple of WTFs... I really enjoyed this book, the characters were brilliantly accurate, the conversations cringingly reminiscent, and the encounters fantastically fantastical (one hopes).

Sally is a heroine of our times - her serial adventures despatched from the frontline of political intrigue punctuated with breathless commentary. Love child of a bang up to date Lois Lane and James Bond, Sally races into situations where angels fear to tread - carrying us along in her effervescent wake.

A ripping yarn that follows our spunky heroine as she manages to thread her way through the dangerous worlds of corruption at the centre of power, and the underside of money and celebrity. Unputdownable.
